AUGUST: We are thrilled to announce that our
Hollygrove Tell Tale at Silversun (Conchita) won
Postgraduate at Bournmouth Championshipshow and went on to take the bitch
Reserve CC thus achieving her Studbook Number. Silversun
Solstice Eve (Bonita) again showed her true potential by winning Novice
and geting a brilliant 3rd in Junior bitch. She has never been out of the
cards since she started her show career. Our sincere thanks to the judge Mrs
Valerie Cozens.
JULY: The Silversuns had another super day at
SESS open show under judge Mary Young. We took 3 dogs, entered 5 classes and
came home with 3 cups and 5 rosettes. Bonita (Silversun
Solstice Eve) won Junior and Novice bitch, plus a VHC in Special
Yearling under judge Rita Aldrige, Conchita (Hollygrove
Tell Tale at Silversun) won Postgraduate Bitch and Carino
(Rareridge Kings Cross at Silversun) had a Reserve
in Open Dog.
Everyone should have a day like this occasionally!
Rareridge Kings Cross at Silversun has only
been shown lightly this year due to our commitments with two litters of
puppies. However, he was consistently well placed eg 2nd in Limit
at East of England and Bournemouth Championship Shows only being beaten in his
class by the dogs going on to win Best of Breed. We are amazed he managed to
achieve this, being a dog with "bad mouth, shoulders, back-end, skin and
temperament" according to several rumours. But in the end quality will out, if
only more people would judge with their EYES and not with their EARS.
2002 started well, he managed to keep body and soul in one piece long
enough to get to CRUFTS. See picture on his page.
Hollygrove Tell Tale at Silversun delighted us
by wining her class at Maidenhead & District and going on to get Reserve Best
of Breed under judge Howard Stubbington. She also put in an appearance at
CRUFTS – see photo on her page.
Ownways Touch of Charm at Silversun has been on
maternity leave for most of the year 2001 and will return to the show-ring as
soon as she can afford new clothes.
Silversun Godot’s Arrival made his debut at
SESS Championship Show where he won Minor Puppy Dog and qualified for Crufts
at his first outing. We have great hopes for this promising young man. He
inherited his mother’s good looks and his father’s excellent temperament.
Silversun Solstice Eve is our first orange, and
very special in a lot of ways. She has the looks of a little angel but the
spirit of a little monster. However, we will accept the challenge. Watch this
space to see if we survive the onslaught.
Well, we did. She had her first outing at Maidenhead where she got a
lovely 3rd place in a very strong class. Her litter brother
Silversun Midsummer Knight for Monbrec was 2nd. He also thrilled
his owners, Pat + Pete Mellish, by qualifying for CRUFTS 2003 at ESA
Championship Show.
We want to take this opportunity to wish good luck to the discerning
owners of Silversun puppies eg Pat + Pete Mellish with
Silversun Midsummer Knight for Monbrec, and Mr + Mrs Shirley with
Silversun Summer Time. God help them!!!
6th May 2002 John Lynch judged English Setters
at South of England Agricultural Society. What a day! Conchita
Hollygrove Tell Tale At Silversun went Best of
Breed, our baby Bonita Silversun Solstice Eve was
Best Puppy and won Group 3.
25th May 2002 Another good day out at Bath for
Bonita's first Championship Show. She delighted us by qualifying for CRUFTS
2003 with a 2nd in a very strong puppy class.
